Child Safety Standards

1. About NIC Nammal

NIC Nammal is the official mobile application of Naas Indian Community Nammal, a registered community organisation based in Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland. The app serves as an information and communication platform for our closed, offline community members.

The app provides read-only access to community news, events, gallery, and announcements. It does not offer public social networking, user-generated content, or direct messaging between users.

2. Zero Tolerance Policy

NIC Nammal has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
• Grooming or exploitation of minors
• Any content, communication, or behaviour that sexualises or endangers children
• Any attempt to use our platform to contact, target, or harm minors

Any violation will result in immediate removal, reporting to relevant authorities, and permanent banning.

3. How We Prevent CSAE

• Admin-only content publishing — All content (news, events, gallery, announcements) is published exclusively by verified administrators. General users cannot post, upload, or share content.
• No public messaging or chat — The app includes no chat, messaging, or comment features between users, eliminating the primary risk vector for grooming.
• No public user profiles — Users do not have public-facing profiles within the app.
• Closed community — The app serves a known, offline community with existing real-world relationships. There is no mechanism for unknown individuals to join.
• Human moderation — All content is reviewed and approved by administrators before publication.

4. Reporting CSAE Concerns

If you encounter any content or behaviour that you believe constitutes CSAE, please report it immediately:

All reports are treated with strict confidentiality. We aim to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and take action within 72 hours.

5. Response to Violations

1. Immediately remove any offending content from the platform
2. Suspend access of any individual involved pending investigation
3. Report the incident to An Garda Síochána (Irish Police) and/or Tusla (Child and Family Agency)
4. Cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations
5. Notify affected parties as legally required
